NHS Wandsworth: Race For Health peer review
To what extent are the PCT's involvement, engagement and communication practices supporting progress towards its Race Equality objectives?
The key questions for the review will be as follows:

1. How effectively is the PCT developing capacity of its third sector in order to ensure a diverse provider base?
2. How can the PCT ensure that its Pledge to make tangible outcomes for BME communities is being delivered on through its SLAs?
3. How effectively does the PCT involve its diverse communities in delivering on its Race Equality objectives?

The peer team will be asked to explore the key questions through three focus areas of work: stimulating the market through third sector investment, delivering on race equality through provider contracts, and involving local communities in supporting progress towards Race Equality objectives.
NHS Wandsworth invites peer reviewers with an interest, or experience in the issues to be explored in the review. Ideally, the peer review team will have around 8 ‑ 9 members. In particular, the PCT is keen to work with a team with relevant knowledge and experience and therefore encourage expressions of interest from:

Race for Health is a Department of Health-funded, NHS based programme that works with PCTs and Trusts to drive forward improvements in health for people from black, and minority ethnic backgrounds. We believe that the time for simply talking about race inequality is over. We support real change across the NHS, with the implementation of legislation as a starting point.
